Οn Saturday, 3rd of October 2015 the Conference "The aspects of teaching foreign languages-Translation and evaluation" took place at the University of Piraeus, in the context of the European action "Translating Europe". The conference was organized by the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission office in Greece and in Nicosia and the Laboratory of Educational Policy, Research Development and Interuniversity Cooperation (ERDIC)

, from the Department of International and European Relations of the School of Economics, Business and International Relations, University of Piraeus.

The main goal of the Conference was to achieve an open discussion about the role of translation in teaching and assessment of foreign languages at all the levels of education (primary, secondary and higher). Guest speakers for the panel discussions of the Conference were teachers, school consultants and academics from Greece and Cyprus. In the second part of the Conferences the participants were divided in three workshops, each for every level of education and under the guidance of the facilitators they were asked to create a constructive dialogue on the subject of the conference. The results of the workshops were presented at the closing panel of the conference.
