Professor Dr. Raphaela Averkorn holds a Chair of Medieval and Modern History and a Jean Monnet Chair “ad personam” in European Integration History at the Department of History, Faculty I, University of Siegen, Germany. She is also the director of two international, interdisciplinary Master Programmes „Roads to Democracy(ies)“ and “International Cultural Studies”. She has been appointed permanent honorary visiting professor at the School of Political Theory, Department of International Relations, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. Previously she worked during 14 years as Assistant Professor and later as Associate Professor at the University of Hannover, Germany.
She holds a PhD from the University of Münster, Germany and a “Habilitation” at the University of Hannover, Germany.
