The main objective is to focus on young people, students aged 16-18 of secondary school in order to inform them about issues of European Union (EU) through innovative ways of learning.
In the framework of the Programme a floorgame has been created in cooperation with the youth / student NGOs and students participating in the programme. Furthermore, an application for mobile phones which will provide information and knowledge to students through a entertaining and creative way will be created.
Also, during the training session thematic workshops have been conducted aiming in the acquisition of skills and creation of active citizens:
During the workshop "Young entrepreneurs", conducted by AIESEC Piraeus and the Center of Promotion of Youth Entrepreneurship and Technology (KePNET), students have had the chance to experience the opportunities for the development of entrepreneurship in Europe and learn how to create their own business plan.
In the simulation workshop conducted by the Rhetoric group and MUN team of University of Piraeus the way Parliament's operation is represented. Students have assumed the role of a Minister in order to understand how a decision is taken at European level.
The aim of the workshop implemented by AEGEE Athens, AEGEE Piraeus and the Piraeus Association of Young Federalists (JEF), have been to bring young people in contact with the achievements and drawbacks of Europe in order to understand how these have already influenced and will continue to affect their lives. Through quiz, interactive games and discussion groups students have got to know the basic principles for the EU and have actively perceived the concept of direct and indirect democracy.
Finally the teachers have been informed for a various topics such as European Educational Policy, Erasmus+ and multilingualism!
Over 500 children and teachers are expected to participate until the end of the programme in the training sessions!
