Στο Βέλγιο οι μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές κατατάσσονται στο δεύτερο κύκλο σπουδών σύμφωνα με το σύστημα ανώτατης εκπαίδευσής του και συμπληρωματικό στο μεταπτυχιακό και τα 60-120 ECTS είναι το μεταπτυχιακό εξειδίκευσης, όπως το λένε, με 60 ακόμη ECTS. Ο χρόνος απόκτησης ενός fulltime μεταπτυχιακού είναι 2-4 εξάμηνα. Η ομοσπονδία Βαλλωνίας- Βρυξελλών στεγάζει 6 γαλλόφωνα πανεπιστήμια και 19 «ανώτατα σχολεία» («leshautesécoles»), στα οποία δεν ισχύει ότι για τα αντίστοιχα της Γαλλίας. Τα δίδακτρα ανέρχονται κατά το μέγιστο σε 835€ ανά έτος για τα πανεπιστήμια και σε 350€ ανά έτος και 455€ περίπου για το έτος απόκτησης του διπλώματος για τα hautesécoles. Πολλά από τα προγράμματα σπουδών είναι δίγλωσσα, στα αγγλικά και τα γαλλικά, και όχι αποκλειστικά σε γαλλικά ή γερμανικά, ενώ μπορεί να χρειάζονται προκαταρκτικές εξετάσεις.

Σε σχέση με την επιλογή προπτυχιακών σπουδών, οι μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές, θα συμφωνούσαμε όλοι, πως αποτελούν μια πολύ πιο δύσκολη επιλογή. « Έχω διαλέξει σωστά το αντικείμενο ενδιαφέροντος μου; Είμαι 100% σίγουρος/-η για την «επένδυση» που κάνω; Ίσως να έψαχνα τι επιλογές έχω και στο εξωτερικό; Μα θα μπορούσα να τα βγάλω πέρα οικονομικά;»

 Παρά την οικονομική και μεταναστευτική κρίση της προηγούμενης δεκαετίας σε πολλά κράτη της, η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση έχει καταλάβει από νωρίς ότι οι νέοι της είναι ο θεμέλιος λίθος για την εξέλιξη της και φροντίζει να τους προσφέρει όλα τα εφόδια. Δηλαδή, διεξάγει ειδικά προγράμματα ενημέρωσης, ενίσχυσης, προώθησης και κατάρτισης των νέων. Ώστοσο, πολλοί νέοι δεν γνωρίζουν τις δυνατότητες που τους παρέχει η ΕΕ για τα δικαιώματα τους αλλά και την εκπαιδευτική και επαγγελματική τους πρόοδο, οπότε καλό θα ήταν να κάνουμε γνωστές μερικές από αυτές.

Στα πλαίσια του μαθήματος «Εκπαίδευση, Κατάρτιση και Δραστηριότητες Έρευνας και Ανάπτυξης στη ΕΕ» είχαμε την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουμε  την υπεύθυνη του γραφείου «Σπουδές στη Γαλλία» του  Γαλλικού Ινστιτούτου της Ελλάδας, Patricia Savary, η οποία μας ενημέρωσε για τις σπουδές στην Γαλλία και μας απέδειξε ότι το γαλλικό εκπαιδευτικό σύστημα στη Γαλλία είναι ταυτόχρονα πλούσιο, πολυμορφικό και με μεγάλες επιδόσεις.
